Join Our Journey: Manager Financial Services (Package up to $170,000)
Nestled in the South West of Western Australia, the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup is a community that thrives on its rich rural lifestyle, cultural heritage, and breathtaking natural beauty. Our new CEO has an exciting transformation agenda, and we’re inviting you to be a part of our story.
As the Manager Financial Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our Shire. In this role, you’ll lead and drive change within our Finance and Customer Service business units, ensuring that we meet our statutory financial obligations with precision and integrity. Your expertise will guide us through the preparation and management of our annual budget, financial reports, and audits. You’ll also develop and monitor internal financial controls and ERP modules, ensuring that our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a tertiary qualification in accounting and at least 2 to 3 years of local government experience. Your extensive knowledge of computerised accounting systems and Australian Accounting Standards will be crucial, as will your strong leadership, communication, and change management skills. You’ll also bring experience in managing corporate resources, including people, budgets, and assets.
But it’s not just about the work – at the Shire, we believe in a balanced lifestyle. That’s why we offer flexible work arrangements, allowing you to enjoy the best of both worlds. You’ll benefit from a Rostered Day Off (RDO), a vehicle (for private use), mobile phone allowance, and a laptop. Plus, you’ll have access to a gym membership and a wellbeing program to keep you healthy and happy.
Are you ready to join us on this journey? Let’s build a brighter future together.
