Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Manager, Global Environment Programs you’re a key member of the Global Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Health & Safety Programs and Compliance. You will contribute to the success of Ball by leading global environmental programs, processes, and tools, including Ball Operational Excellence (BOE) Environmental risk elements & fundamental requirements.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, other science or engineering related degrees or 5-7 years of work related experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in providing advice and services related to environmental program management across all entities within a corporation, demonstrating leadership in ensuring compliance with regulations and laws.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing environmental programs , processes, and tools to meet corporate guidelines and comply with governmental regulations and laws in environmental programs.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading and influencing a team of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) professionals, guiding them through large environmental improvement projects and change management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated skills in:
  • Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant environmental operations techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Successful experience leading EHS in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills along with the ability to provide a high degree of customer sensitivity
  • Strong attention to detail, follow up and organizational skills.
  • Data Management: Database management and spreadsheet development and ability to learn and adapt various software tools for use in EHS.
  • Business Operations: to determine applicable regulation and potential business impacts.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective follow up skills.
  • Ability to influence effectively across all levels of personnel globally.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience with ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Working knowledge of global environmental regulations, legal practices, environmental principles practices and verbiage.
  • Experience in high speed manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead environmental projects affecting global operations, create/deploy global environmental standards, lead environmental aspects and impacts for ASI and ISO 14001 certifications.
  • Lead the development and deployment of global environmental standards. This includes development of plant and functional environmental rules, processes, tools to meet corporate guidelines, and in compliance with governmental regulations and laws in the environmental area.
  • Conduct environmental assessments to identify potential or actual risks; assist in the development of responses/corrective action to the assessment with the goal of improving Ball’s compliance position.
  • Work to improve department efficiency through streamlining processes, automating data collection and applying LEAN principals.
  • Ensure clear and concise communication to all stakeholders including EHS, Operations, and Ball Law Department.
  • Assist Ball Global and Regional participation in enforcement proceedings, and legacy remediation programs in cooperation with the Ball Law Department.
  • Maintain awareness and comply with all Environmental management requirements.
  • Guide team through large Environmental improvement projects and change management initiatives and drive best practices across all business units.
