We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager, Governance WPB South Asia.

Principal Responsibilities

  • This role is a key member of the South & Southeast Asia Chief of Staff team, directly reporting to the Head of Governance and supporting the organization and execution of all business priorities in WPB South and Southeast Asia. The role holder will play an important role in the orchestration, design, and execution of the multiple priorities for WPB in the region, as part of a small Chief of Staff team that works collaboratively with WPB Markets, Country and Regional Entity CEO Teams, and global and regional functional and business teams. Key responsibilities of the role holder include the below
  • Manage the tracking of actions for the Chief of Staff office, following up with stakeholders for updates, ensuring that actions are closed on time and escalating where actions may become overdue
  • Support the preparation of strategic performance dashboards; liaising with the various business functions and ensuring the supporting materials are reviewed and aligned with overall Group / Market and/or regional messages and strategic direction;
  • Support governance activities for the Chief of Staff office, including the creation of creating meeting packs, taking accurate and clear minutes and ensuring that actions are circulated in a timely manner and appropriate follow-up takes place;
  • Support the reporting of the scorecard for the WPB South and Southeast Asia Head by obtaining inputs from relevant teams and keeping metrics updated
  • Assist with the organization of Chief of Staff activities such as Off-sites, management meetings and other events required by the WPB South and Southeast Asia Head
  • As part of the overall team responsibilities, assist with, or lead, where required, multiple people, talent, culture, and communications activities, working alongside other members of the team, including the creation of briefings for internal and external events, Town Halls and newsletters, and driving forward the Region’s People and Culture agenda
  • Conduct research as needed on areas required by the WPB South and Southeast Asia Head and create recommendations for action
  • Cultivate relationships with business partners across local / Regional / Group teams
  • Support team operational activity including business continuity planning and strategic diary management for the WPB South and Southeast Asia Head

Requirements

  • Strong set of values aligned to HSBC’s, and a track record of successful collaboration in a matrix environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify key themes and issues swiftly and accurately
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to plan ahead and execute swiftly, as well as the ability to pivot at pace
  • Previous experience of working in a Business Management or PMO role valued
  • Previous experience in a Line of Business/P&L management role valued, as a lead or individual contributor
  • Display effective collaboration skills and ability to influence and work effectively with stakeholders across functions
  • Background in the financial services industry, with a sound understanding of the Wealth and Personal Banking business at HSBC, valued
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail
  • Ability to navigate and deliver results in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to translate concepts into actionable plans to drive business results
  • Be adaptable, resilient and passionate about working as part of a team
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
