Description:

Bring your experience building strong relationships and influence the development of QRA and State government policies to ensure disaster risk management systems and projects support communities and decisions across all phases of disaster management.

  • Lead and manage research and engagement for the development of policies, plans, guidelines and tools in alignment with emerging national and international policy, resilience trends and best practice.
  • Lead and manage the development, implementation, integration, and evaluation of evidence-based disaster risk management and risk reduction programs, leveraging local community relevant disaster risk management data.
  • Facilitate and participate in state-wide collaboration between and across all levels of government and industry to ensure all hazards risk management activities provide the best outcome for communities.
  • Develop and implement risk-based planning, policy and procedures to improve the identification and assessment of capability and capacity to manage disaster/potential disasters.
  • Lead collaboration with Councils and state agencies across Queensland in the identification and assessment of broad area risk for use within and across local government, disaster district and state disaster risk assessments.
  • Represent QRA at stakeholder meetings and events with relevant industry and community organisations, negotiate agreed outcomes and incorporate learnings into communication and education strategies, projects and policies.
  • Lead and manage hazard and risk projects including monitoring and evaluating outcomes against performance targets.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver strategic and operational objectives by modelling collaborative relationships and a high-performance workplace culture.
