Description:
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience in leading OH&S, risk management and quality assurance functions in large, complex organisations
- Extensive knowledge of and familiarity with health and safety regulatory and compliance frameworks (experience in the sports and/or venues industries desirable but not essential)
- Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with a strong ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and with multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem solving and report writing skills
- Sound judgement, personal integrity and the ability to work independently
- Computer literate with a reasonable working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to research, understand and apply legislative and regulatory requirements in the development, review and implementation of policies, procedures and associated documents
- Self-awareness, including the ability to remain calm under pressure, give and receive constructive feedback and use it to improve performance
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, including law, business management, risk management or venue management are highly desirable
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Manager Health and Safety, you will be responsible for advising and guiding the organisation on all aspects of venue and workplace safety. You will lead the development and implementation of key health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect organisational priorities and respond to operational demands.
A FEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Develop, review, and implement health and safety policies, plans and procedures
- Establish and communicate internal health and safety standards for compliance
- Analyse operational data and prepare reports for leadership
- Partner with our learning and development team to deliver health and safety training
- Promote a positive health, safety, and risk culture
- Oversee incident management, security monitoring, and CCTV systems
- Support critical incident investigations and post-incident reviews
