Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on Health, Safety & Environment Manager (HSE) who will join our expanding team at Applied Medical’s European headquarters located in Amersfoort. You will be responsible for leading HSE Team to develop and implement the Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and policies. This is done in accordance with the local laws and regulations for our European Manufacturing, Distribution locations and teams.
As Health, Safety & Environment Officer, you work closely with multiple teams throughout the organization such as Personnel, Quality Systems, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Facilities, as well as our internal HSE Teams in the US. You can be contacted by anyone in the organization for HSE related topics. You report to the Director RA/QA.
Requirements:
- Bachelor level and/or “Hogere Veiligheidskunde” (HVK, safety management) degree
- Leadership experience
- Relevant work experience in a similar position
- Affinity with Medical (Devices) industry
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, or similar standards
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, Dutch is a nice-to-hav
Responsibilities:
- Understand and comply with Applied Medical’s Quality System (QS), safety rules and company policies
- Lead the HSE Team
- (Co) Develop, implement, and monitor company policies, processes, and methods on HSE
- Ensure compliance with all required legislation, practices, and relevant standards
- Perform risk assessments and evaluations or other actions to minimize, mitigate or eliminate risk
- Develop and perform trainings
- Perform root cause analysis for work related incident and accident investigations
- Support departments in developing, implementing, and maintaining department specific HS&E procedures
- Provide guidance about work assessment for third-party contractors hired by the company
- Arrange and lead RI&E initiatives as well as the follow-up on actions
- Monitor and set up a CE Mark program for production equipment as well as manage the process around chemical handling and disposal
- Participate and support internal and external audits
Requirements:
