POSITION SUMMARY

A Tax Manager who will become part of an ASM Global Tax Team, covering a variety of international tax matters with a focus on direct and indirect tax for the region, Korea, Japan, Singapore, China, Taiwan, and India but also tax accounting, transfer pricing and support in custom duties.
The role will be closely cooperated with tax professionals in the Netherland (HQ), Singapore and the US, and report to Sr. tax manager in Korea.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in any Accounting Field, preferred with CPA or tax related accreditation.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience within an international tax environment, ideally in the Big 4, preferably combined with a few years of in-house experience.
  • Strong tax knowledge and hands on experience in tax return submission and various tax reporting.
  • Fluency in English is a requirement. Other languages (Japanese, Chinese) a plus. SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Has the ability to cooperate in a team-oriented environment, to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • An excellent work ethic, solid written communication and influencing skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

The role is the intermediary between the Sr. tax manager in Korea and regional finance operations in different regions.

  • Focus is on regional corporate income tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, local tax, quarterly tax provisioning, and tax accounting which include the following:
  • Tax data preparation, including reconciliation, all timely tax return submissions, and replies to tax queries.
  • Prepare quarterly tax provision and deferred tax calculation and supporting other regional local finance team in the same respect.
  • Actively communicate with external tax consults and local tax authorities to manage tax related matters/processes.
  • Assist with responding to audit queries and responsible for tax audit defense and assisting customs tax audit.
  • Prepare tax accounting documents and AR/AP postings and handling statutory tax reporting issues, if any.
  • Assist with various cross-border operational tax matters related to ASM legal entities overseas and business processes within Asia, including but not limited to Europe and the United States.
  • Prepare tax memos for key issues and findings for internal and external purposes.
  • Maintain tax procedures/update documentation.
  • Proactively looking for opportunities to improve internal tax data management and tax efficiency of business flows.
  • Initiate/coordination with IT/perform testing for tax department’s change requests.
