POSITION: MANAGER, IMIT
Status: Full Time
Department: IMIT
Union Association: Non – Union
Hours of Work: 7.5-hour Monday to Friday day shifts (subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $48.42 - $58.34/hour
POSITION SUMMARY
The IMIT Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of the hospital’s information management and technology systems. This role ensures the alignment of IT infrastructure and information management processes with the hospital’s operational and strategic goals. The IMIT Manager will lead a team of IT professionals, manage budgets, and maintain compliance with regulatory and security standards.
This position is also responsible for maintaining internal, community, regional and professional partnerships, assisting with the development, monitoring of an annual operating and capital budgets, as well as monitoring and dealing with human resources in a fair and equitable manner. The role must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in IMIT and hospital or clinical/business operations;
- Experience leading large IMIT projects within Ontario;
- Minimum five (5) years’ progressive clinical information systems experience;
- Minimum three (3) years’ of experience in a leadership position within information management with a focus on clinical information systems deployment and operations
- Recent related experience in a hospital or clinical/business operations environment is preferred.

- Specialized knowledge in clinical information systems and the system development life cycle methodology specifically in the fields of Patient Records, LAB, Imaging, Pharmacy, Diagnostic Imaging, and major hospital clinical programs.
- Technical skills - Advanced computer software proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, flowcharting and database management)
- Clinical information system and Hospital Information Systems proficiency
- Knowledge of and experience with hospital clinical department workflows
- Demonstrated effectiveness as a team member through collaboration, respect and effective communication.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working with minimal supervision with proven self-initiative, reliability and trustworthiness.
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the position.
