Description:
About your next Challenge as a Manager, Industrial Security :
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Security Manager actively participates in the mission of the security department at L3 MAS: to ensure the protection of individuals, facilities, assets and data belonging to the company and its various customers. This includes managing and enforcing laws and regulations, contractual obligations and corporate/company policies.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
- College diploma in a related field (industrial safety, legal, management, etc.) and at least 9 years of relevant experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (industrial safety, legal, management, etc.) and at least 7 years of relevant experience;
- At least, 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree;
- Experience in personnel administration, including unionized staff, is preferred;
- Experience in a similar safety management position within a defense or aerospace organization is preferred;
- Experience as a company security officer and designated representative is preferred;
- Knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is considered an asset;
- Ability to communicate with the executives on high-impact issues;
- Ability to solve problems and innovate when information is hard to get;
- Must be eligible for Nato Secret security clearance or hold one;
- Be meticulous and conscientious in following the various regulations, policies and applicable laws;
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills;
- Demonstrate discretion, autonomy, judgment, integrity and reliability;
- Bilingualism in French and English (intermediate level, oral and written) is required.
Eligibility Criteria (mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
- For on-site positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the activities of the safety department, primarily at the Mirabel, Ottawa and Halifax sites, and for the 13 other L3 MAS sites, through the application of the company’s policies, processes and contractual or legal obligations.
- Manage unionized and non-unionized employees in the security department.
- Manage, administer and ensure the compliance and integrity of the contract security and controlled goods programs.
- Act as a Senior Manager of the division’s internal Insider Threat Program.
- Represent L3 MAS and ensure compliance with safety obligations issued by Aéroports de Montréal (for Transport Canada).
- Develop and keep up-to-date corporate and local safety policies and ensure compliance.
- Manage access and alarm systems for Mirabel, Ottawa and Halifax.
- Investigate, document and inform the authorities of safety rules violations or breaches, if necessary.
- Develop and keep up-to-date the rules protecting the company’s confidential information.
- Develop, keep up-to-date and deliver safety training programs for employees, visitors and suppliers.
- Plan and carry out safety inspections, including audits.
- Develop and update Crisis Management Plan
- Manage and recommend processes or projects within a budget defined by management.
- Act as Company Security Officer (CSO) for the government (contract security program).
- Act as Designated Official (DO) to the government (controlled goods program).
- Act as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to Canada’s nuclear regulator.
