WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
We are looking for a dedicated Manager Insurance to oversee the renewal of all lines of insurance at Aecon.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Aecon’s insurance program, which includes the renewal of all insurance lines.
- Provide guidance and recommendations for insurance provisions including coverage amounts, insurance budget and allocation.
- Providing assistance with business divisions with the review and negotiation of contracts, focusing on insurance and indemnity clauses.
- With respect to major projects:
- Analyzing tender and contract documents to determine if the insurance requirements requested by the client are adequate, and challenge as needed.
- Determining insurance requirements for subcontractors.
- Analyze insurance renewal results and summarize into comprehensive reports for management.
- Promoting risk management awareness throughout Aecon’s various divisions and assisting in the delivery of training.
- Continually review the company risk profile to ensure the insurance programs are fit for purpose.
- Assist in external relationship management with service providers including Brokers, Insurers, Claim Handlers and Loss Adjusters.
- Participate in diligence for potential acquisitions and facilitate the integration of newly acquired businesses into Aecon’s insurance programs.
- Populate the risk register quarterly.
- Assist in the management of the surety bonding facility.
- Prepare and present weekly progress report to management.
- Propose innovative ways to optimize processes and ensure an orderly approach to handling files.
- Coach and elevate your team to a higher level.
- Other ad hoc duties as required
