WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We are looking for a dedicated Manager Insurance to oversee the renewal of all lines of insurance at Aecon.

• Manage Aecon’s insurance program, which includes the renewal of all insurance lines.
• Provide guidance and recommendations for insurance provisions including coverage amounts, insurance budget and allocation.
• Providing assistance with business divisions with the review and negotiation of contracts, focusing on insurance and indemnity clauses.
• With respect to major projects:
• Analyzing tender and contract documents to determine if the insurance requirements requested by the client are adequate, and challenge as needed.
• Determining insurance requirements for subcontractors.
• Analyze insurance renewal results and summarize into comprehensive reports for management.
• Promoting risk management awareness throughout Aecon’s various divisions and assisting in the delivery of training.
• Continually review the company risk profile to ensure the insurance programs are fit for purpose.
• Assist in external relationship management with service providers including Brokers, Insurers, Claim Handlers and Loss Adjusters.
• Participate in diligence for potential acquisitions and facilitate the integration of newly acquired businesses into Aecon’s insurance programs.
• Populate the risk register quarterly.
• Assist in the management of the surety bonding facility.
• Prepare and present weekly progress report to management.
• Propose innovative ways to optimize processes and ensure an orderly approach to handling files.
• Coach and elevate your team to a higher level.
• Other ad hoc duties as required
