QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural).
  • 11 to 15 years of construction-related industry experience including 5 to 6 years of virtual Design and Construction related experience.
  • Expert understanding of construction sequences.
  • Advanced understanding of and proven experience implementing construction technology.
  • Ability to develop model management procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of the building construction process and the various building components involved at each stage of construction.
  • Advanced ability to oversee and ensure the quality of virtual construction models from design and trade partners.
  • Understanding of trade detailing and design workflows.
  • Advanced ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications and translate 2D drawings and specifications into a complete 3D/4DBuilding Information Model.
  • Advanced understanding and training in 3D modeling software.
  • Experience with 4D scheduling software and planning tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations are built and reviewed.
  • Manages integrated construction resource allocation at the district level and leads department process improvement activities.
  • Liaises with estimating to establish and manage staffing resources and budgets for new pursuits and projects.
  • Participates in project interviews and proposal writing in respect to virtual design construction VDC and other integrated technologies.
  • Communicates best practices across projects and districts and facilitates sharing.
  • Leads the setup, management, and best practices of digital workflows.
  • Oversees the coordination and management of trade detailing and design deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Liaises between design teams and construction teams.
  • During the pursuit stage, works with the project team to review and recommend scopes that VDC tools and processes can be incorporated into the project and allocates VDC resources accordingly.
  • Participates in scoping design deliverables and trade detailing requirements.
  • Participates in the pursuit and proposal of a project including the narrative and presentation material development and delivery.
  • Drafts VDC and ICT contract language and/or ensures it is incorporated into the design or subcontract agreement. Develops BIM (Building Information Model) execution plan.
