The Role
To lead and manage a team carrying out international reporting, funding calculations and (where applicable) financial statements.
Principal Accountabilities
- Lead a team carrying out international reporting, funding calculations and (where applicable) financial statements in more complex territories requiring accounting and/or actuarial judgment
- Act as a technical accounting expert for the wider International Finance Team, with sufficient understanding of actuarial principles to act as a key liaison with the International Reserving Team
- Assisting the senior team with negotiations with regulators with specific reference to:
the content, preparation and submission of regulatory returns
financial statements (where applicable)
funding requirements for regulatory deposits
- To assist in providing first line support to Managing Agents in meeting their reporting and international funding requirements
- To review the reporting process regularly to identify any changes required due to changes in reporting requirements and to improve the reporting process overall. Process and systems development and documentation
- Development of controls procedures and documentation
- Ensure data and information is obtained, stored and managed effectively
- Ensure key person exposure is managed effectively
- Assistance with project work in relation to the above as required
Skills
- Strong technical accounting skills, qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
- Ability to work with complex information requiring significant accounting judgment
