The Manager, Network Operations plays a crucial role in maintaining the backbone of Nutrien’s IT infrastructure. This role will oversee the daily operations of network systems, ensuring optimal performance and security. Responsibilities include managing both hardware and software, implementing policies, standards and procedures for network administration, and leading a network operations team made up of employees, contactors and managed services.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a leader of the Global Network Team by ceaseless collaboration with the Network Architecture and Engineering Teams
  • Responsible for holding the Network Operations Team accountable
  • Hold IT Infrastructure Partners (Compute, Site Support and Cybersecurity) accountable for their role in supporting network operations
  • Oversee the maintenance and operations of the organization’s network infrastructure. Ensure network reliability and performance meet organizational standards
  • Lead a technical team of Network Operators who maintain core network services
  • Lead the Network Operations Center Service Team and be committed to the constant improvement of that team
  • Lead the development and implementation of support strategies across multiple technologies, business units, and regions
  • Manage the effectiveness of the Network Operations Center Service Team by reporting on quality metrics of the service provided
  • Report on the status of key Network Operations metrics and KPI’s
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors for network hardware, software, and services to maintain cost-effective network operations
  • Manage network hardware, software and services license renewals
  • Collaborate with the Global Network Team on capital and operating budgets. Prepare an annual budget for Network Operations
  • Stay abreast of new networking technologies and practices to enhance network capabilities and support organizational growth
