    An opportunity to establish, maintain and refine a project control and assurance framework ensuring consistent application of the policies, principles, practices and Ways of Working for change initiatives across the IT-enabled project portfolio.
    Manage a team of project coordinators, portfolio analysts and assurance staff supporting the project portfolio.

About the role

  • Create RBA values aligned culture, enabling an environment for high levels of employee engagement and achievement.
  • Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of the area, sharing accountability with other leaders for overall performance of deliverables and outcomes to meet the current and future needs of the Bank.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve assurance and control methods for change initiatives ensuring delivery teams are following the agreed practices, procurement policies, reporting standards, financial management and the Ways of Working while delivering their scope.
  • Working closely with other areas within the Bank, lead portfolio-level planning across projects and provide governance support and insights for decisions around project commencement, deferment, or discontinuation.
  • Establish standards for team members and provide coaching, mentoring, performance management, line management and career guidance.
  • Manage a central view of resource supply and demand for in-flight and upcoming projects, escalating any mismatch for remedial action.
  • Ensure operational accountability in regards to people management, processes, forward planning and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and respond to issues, risks and opportunities, maintaining key controls and ensuring appropriate processes are in place.
  • Manage internal and external relationships, communicating and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders to successfully deliver change.

Your background

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
  • First and/or Second Level Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM II, A-CSM).
  • PMBOK or Prince 2 certification or working towards.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Assurance of Waterfall and Agile projects.
  • Experience in providing project control and governance support for a complex portfolio of projects.
  • Project delivery experience on large and complex projects or programs.
  • Deep understanding and capabilities for dealing with complex problems, prioritisation, etc.
  • Exceptional communications and engagement skills in connecting people to purpose and outcomes.
  • Experience implementing strategy and leading, developing and motivating a team of project personnel.
  • Understanding of enterprise and area-specific policies and processes, and demonstrated ability to monitor and guide on compliance, as well as influence others outside of own area.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and communicate responsibilities in relation to health, safety and holistic wellbeing.
  • Significant experience in stakeholder management and experience in representing the department across the organisation.
