Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of KidsInclusive, the Managers at KidsInclusive (KI) supports the Director of KidsInclusive in operation of all KI centre activities including: budget, KI strategic planning, community outreach and leadership, risk management, privacy, KI health records and contract management. The Managers are also responsible for recruitment, supervision and support for staff (over 60), liaising with other KHSC department as required (Occupational Health, People service, Facilities, IT support, Finance, Risk and Contract Management, Privacy Office, Ininew Patient Services, Medical Records, Media/ Public Relations, Volunteer Services) and creating/ revising policies and procedures specific to KI.
Within this role the Manager is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Kingston Health Sciences Centre strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires completion of Master’s degree or completion of a University degree and a professional designation (e.g., Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker) or equivalent
  • Master’s degree and a professional designation preferred
  • Significant leadership experience required (5-7 years’ experience minimum)
  • Significant leadership experience in the child and youth sector required (5-7 years’ experience minimum) preferred
  • Experience in Autism services preferred
  • Advanced leadership skills
  • Advanced communication and critical thinking skills
  • Member of a Regulated Health Profession, MSW, MHA or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the children’s rehabilitation sector in Ontario
  • Bilingualism (French and English) preferred
  • Satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector search required

Responsibilities:

  • Human Resource Management – The Managers are responsible for recruitment, orientation, supervision, support, performance appraisals, for all staff (over 60).
  • Business Functions- The Managers support the Director in all business functions including budget development/management, developing/ managing of contracts with external agencies, and drafting reports as requested by the Director for various funders and KHSC.
  • Privacy, Quality, Risk and Records Management- The Managers support the director in all of these areas including managing KidsInclusive Electronic Health Record which is separate from KHSC, quality improvement initiatives including accreditation, complaints and compliments, privacy breaches.
  • Daily Functional Operations- The Managers are available to all staff, clients/ families, partner agencies and KHSC departments to receive inquires and provide support/ direction in the day to day function of the centre. Staff and clients are on site and in the community (more than 50% of client visits are in the community).
  • Liaise with KHSC Departments- The Managers liaise with KHSC departments as required including: Occupational Health, People Services, Facilities, IT support, Finance, Ininew PS, Risk Management, Privacy, Medical Records, Media/ Public Relations, Volunteer Services
