Scope
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Manager of Labour Relations will lead a team of HR professionals, providing specialized advice, services, and support in labour relations, compensation, and disability management.
Responsibilities
Lead and provide expert guidance to a team of HR Advisors, Workplace Health Specialists, and a Compensation Specialist.
Develop and implement strategic plans for collective bargaining, and lead negotiation of collective agreements.
Assist management in resolving labour relations issues, grievance procedures, and arbitration.
Foster positive and collaborative labour-management relations.
Develop and oversee corporate HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation.
Manage compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, and analysis.
Ensure compensation programs and policies comply with legislative requirements.
Stay informed of best practices and trends in labour relations, disability management, and compensation.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, with a minimum of 7-10 years of related HR, labour relations, and compensation experience (preferably in a public sector union environment).
Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset.
Experience leading and managing a team of professional employees.
Extensive knowledge of employment law, labour law, Human Rights legislation, and collective agreements.
Strong ability to build and enhance strategic partnerships with managers, unions, and employees.
Exceptional negotiation and mediation skills with a proven track record in resolving grievances.
Excellent written skills for drafting contract and policy language.
Proficiency in complex data analysis and research.
Experience in managing HR projects and programs, and developing and delivering training to managers.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Annual Salary: $142,797-$167,997
