Job Description
The Manager of Learning & Development will be expected to serve as a trusted business partner, working closely with leaders across the organization and the HR team, to drive strategic learning and development through robust and thorough solutions, enabling individuals and departments to achieve extraordinary results. Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent, Learning & Development, the successful candidate needs to be passionate about leadership and career development programs and practices, have demonstrated analytical and technical skills and must be an excellent project manager. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to form relationships at various levels of MLSE.
- Lead the end-to-end learning and career development lifecycles for all levels and departments of MLSE
- Design, develop, and implement core learning programming and create a curriculum that enables employees across the organization to deliver exceptional fan experiences, optimize business performance, and reach their full potential.
- Create leadership development programs aligned with MLSE’s Mission, Vision, Values, and strategic priorities to enhance manager effectiveness and strengthen the succession bench.
- Deploy a range of learning modalities to support a variety of learner experiences, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and connected to responsibilities and growth.
- Continuously measure the effectiveness of all learning programs, identifying trends and insights to make updates/improvements on an ongoing basis.
- Manage external coaching programs and engagements for leaders across the company.
- Support the organizational onboarding strategy aligned with MLSE’s employer value proposition.
- Identify learning partners to support content needs, meeting with current and potential vendors on an ongoing basis.
- Champion and support full inclusion by embedding Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) practices, while helping the EDI team to roll out and run EDI Initiatives through MLSE’s LMS (Workday).
- Assist the HR Technology team as needed with Workday LMS functionality, support, maintenance, reporting and upkeep.
Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years HR experience, with a specific focus on learning and development/training expertise (instructional design); experience in a work environment with a strong customer service culture an advantage.
- Ability to work closely with senior leadership to understand and assess L&D needs and translate this into a thorough learning strategy.
- Diverse L&D experience: compliance training, customer service, leadership training, manager development.
- Background in curriculum development: experience with building, designing, and facilitating digital learning/training content.
- Passionate organizational development practitioner, with an interest in fostering a positive workplace climate and culture focused on employee engagement.
- Proven capabilities in developing highly engaging content that builds collective competencies and drives incredible employee experience.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong digital dexterity and experience using current leading-edge technologies and learning platforms (Articulate, 10KC, Skillsoft Percipio, etc.); extensive experience with Workday Learning Management System preferred.
