THE OPPORTUNITY:

Seize the opportunity! WSP is seeking a Manager for Mechanical Engineering to join our Buildings Mechanical & Electrical Department at the Thornhill office. We are looking for a proven leader who prioritizes the team, providing motivation, encouragement, and support, while valuing each member’s unique contributions. You have a technical background in mechanical design, including HVAC and plumbing, across various building types. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our client’s expectations are satisfied, project timelines are met and that the quality of work adheres to the highest standards

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, EITs, and designers, providing guidance and support.
  • Act as a mentor to the team, helping individuals develop their skills and advance in their careers.
  • Act as the lead on complex projects
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables on all projects undertaken by the team.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Ensure all engineering work meets quality standards and codes, while ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during project execution.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines and architects.
  • Maintain and manage strong relationships with clients, architects and contractors.Implement and promote best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
