Job Description
The Manager of Mortgage Loan Consultants plays a crucial role in advancing the Mortgage team’s mission to deliver an exceptional, best-in-class mortgage experience. This position focuses on collaborating with our mortgage loan consultant staff, as well as current and prospective members, to help them identify and secure mortgage solutions that align with their financial goals, including homeownership. Additionally, the manager is responsible for coordinating the origination and processing of compliant files for conventional, FHA, and VA loans, ensuring that we meet our annual mortgage volume targets while enhancing the overall financial quality of life for our members.
MINIMUM FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Communications, or related field of study.
- 7+ years’ experience in mortgage lending
- 3+ years’ management or supervisory experience required required
- 2+ years’ experience in mortgage processing Preferred
- 2+ years’ in mortgage or lending retail sales Preferred
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master’s degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.
TECHNICAL OR SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Strong sales and mortgage loan product and underwriting requirements experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects at a time.
- Comprehension of mortgage lending compliance regulations, conventional, FHA and VA experience for structuring loan programs.
- Extensive experience with FNMA DU automated underwriting system.
- Advanced communication, relations, and coaching skills.
- Must be skilled in developing educational materials and programs for members and staff.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word/Excel/Outlook).

Additional Information
The pay range for this position is: $90,126.40 to $118,289.60 per Year (S17)
FINAL COMPENSATION FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY VARIOUS FACTORS SUCH AS RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE, SPECIFIC SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND INTERNAL PAY EQUITY.
This position is eligible for an incentive plan.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the mortgage loan consultant staff to provide training, direction, standards and evaluations. Coaches and leads staff in loan origination, loan processing and the highest service quality levels.
- Work cross functionally for better delivery of front and back-end mortgage processes. Participate in mortgage teams for processing, underwriting, QC, compliance and P&P updates. Originate employee and high profile member mortgage loans. Work cross functionally for better delivery of back end mortgage process.
- Oversee the meeting of goals and operation of the mortgage loan consultant team.
- Monitor weekly and monthly mortgage loan consultant production reports and ensure all compliance. Daily oversight of the pipeline, web, phone and face-to-face applications. Phone call quality monitoring. Uncover training needs through file revies.
- Resolves difficult member issues regarding the processing of their loan application to include working with other departments.
- Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
