SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably with a health professional background
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
- Complex programme and project management experience
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Māori and or Pacific models of health and able to work credibly in all cultural contexts
- Knowledge of contemporary health service management principles and practices
- Demonstrated experience of successfully building, maintaining and managing strong stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated experience of health service design and commissioning (planning, procuring, contracting and evaluation)
- An understanding of population-based screening programmes
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings desired
Responsibilities:
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join the Prevention directorate as a Manager, National Cervical Screening Programme. This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).
The Manager of the National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP) plays a vital leadership role within the Prevention Directorate, NPHS. In this role you will have oversight of the National Cervical Screening Programme and be responsible for leading the ongoing improvement of cervical screening in Aotearoa New Zealand.
