POSITION SUMMARY…

The mission of the Inbound Compliance (IBC) team is to create the framework and standards suppliers must adhere to when delivering all the $35B dollars in retail value worth of goods to all distribution centers across Canada. Failure to comply to the frameworks leads to collections from vendors of over $61 million dollars annually. All deliveries of goods require supplier quality excellence through defect elimination. Walmart inbound shipping standards are required for operational productivity, safety, and seamless flow of merchandise. The Manager, National Inbound Compliance, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, IBC, will be responsible for establishing end-to-end quality by pursuing supplier compliance within the network for all manual and automated distribution centers. The Manager, National Inbound Compliance will manage three regional team leaders to obtain best-in-class status through defect elimination by measuring, monitoring, and evaluating suppliers’ inbound quality. The role is responsible for strategic planning and execution of all inbound receiving initiatives, Canada wide, for all business channels. The role is also accountable to collect and administer an annual operating plan, by business unit, for supplier defects. Transformation of Walmart Canada’s Supplier Information Manuals (SIMs) for process improvements for all business channels is key to success for this role. The incumbent will be high-performing, ambitious and resilient, to develop a deep understanding of Walmart’s E2E supply chain process. The role will utilize effective communication, stakeholder management (including Senior Directors and VP-level executives) and dashboard analytics to successfully execute this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Optimize operational handling, to maximize productivity, by evaluating, measuring and monitoring Suppliers inbound quality.
  2. Lead key partners in Operations, Replenishment and Merchandising to deliver and flow product for Domestic, Import and Seasonal programs throughout Canada.
  3. Ensure suppliers comply with Walmart standards and drive continual improvement against identified opportunities by improving end-to-end accuracy and visibility. Ensure consistent application of program in network, while being accountable for integrity of collections and reversals which total 61M annually.
  4. Transform Supplier Information Manuals (SIMs) by business channel (RDC / HVDC / PDC / GDC / ADC / IDC / DSDC / Ecommerce), in conjunction with stakeholders, with continuous updates for process improvements. Create and maintain SOP’s and training programs for operational teams.
  5. Accountability to produce annual operating plan, monthly forecasts and week over week analysis of business trends for inbound compliance and Supplier scorecard performance.
  6. Logistics operational lead for Year Beginning and Golden Quarter meetings.
  7. Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, support company mission, values and standards of ethics and integrity; utilize open door policy.
  8. Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating strategies and OKRs; building accountability for measuring progress in achieving results; demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning, by managing the correction of errors and feedback loops.
