QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS (ABOUT YOU):
- Fluency in English & French is required
- Minimum of three (3+) years’ work experience in a sales role.
- Minimum of three (3+) years’ experience in a leadership capacity.
- Post secondary education in Business or Hotel/Restaurant an asset.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required.
- Travel needed as required locally and/or to surrounding areas.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other sales and/or industry specific programs.

Responsibilities:
ROLE:
This role is responsible for leading the National Sales team with a focus on increasing sales through penetration of existing accounts, identifying new sales opportunities and leveraging expenses. Building and maintaining strong partnerships with customer accounts and developing relationships built on trust with key contacts is an essential responsibility of this position. Additionally, this position is accountable for ensuring compliance with respect to contractual obligations between all customers and the Sysco Region, and will manage key accounts as determined by the VP, National Sales for the Region.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership and coaching to National Sales Account Executives to ensures sales goals/targets are achieved and performance levels are maintained
- Develop and maintain rapport and a strong partnership with National Sales account customers by maintaining regular communication either in person or by phone, identifying customer needs, and providing excellence in customer service.
- Manage special promotions to ensure adequate inventory, on time delivery and purchase commitments are complete.
- Participate in and support the negotiation process for new and renewed contracts for National Sales customers and ensure that key stakeholders are informed.
- Ensure contract compliance regarding quantities for products, dead stock and delivery schedules.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly period end reports and annual budget as it pertains to National Sales accounts.
- Work with merchandising to identify new product offerings, specifically SYSCO brand which can contribute to increased margin, increased sales and/or our mission of helping our customers succeed.
- Work with all departments within the site to ensure product knowledge and promotional product purchasing and availability supports our contract commitments.
- Monitor category and account performance on all contracts.
- Prepare and present presentations to large and small groups
- Liaise with national Sales Canada VP National Account’s/National Account Manager’s where appropriate
- Assist with the implementation of new processes, procedures and tools and ensuring understanding with team
- Support Account Executives with additional customer communication if required
- Review Accounts Receivable status with Account Executives
- Manages entire Territory for National Sales and may include healthcare accounts
- Accountable for the accuracy of timecards, approvals and scheduling of direct reports
