As a Manager in our natural resources and energy valuation team, you will play an integral part in growing and developing the team, business development activities and in valuing our clients’ businesses and assets. The sub-industries of the natural resources team include: oil & gas, metals & mining, chemicals and vessels and energy (clean and new energy).
The natural resources and energy valuation team performs engagements across all these sub-industries and sits within the wider valuation team covering a multitude of other industries and types of valuations. The natural resources valuation team also works alongside our internal specialists, Deloitte Technical Mining Advisory services team who are comprised of sub-surface technical specialists that value mineral assets and assist in the technical due diligence on a wide range of global mineral assets.
We are currently looking for Managers in our London office whose responsibilities will include:
- Working with the partners and other senior staff to develop our natural resources & energy valuation practice
- Managing teams to undertake and deliver multiple valuation projects to time and to budget
- Performing reasoned and clearly presented analysis including experience of reviewing/constructing valuation models to assess value
- Self-challenging the analysis performed and clearly articulating the rationale for the valuation conclusions reached
- Understanding, performing and taking responsibility for the client acceptance and engagement risk mitigation processes
- Gaining a deep understanding of valuation theory and applying this in practice, as supported by relevant qualifications
- Liaising with clients as and when appropriate
- Coaching and developing staff from both a technical and personal development perspective
- Actively pursuing self-learning, on the job training and knowledge from other team members
- Contributing to broader group initiatives
- Building internal networks and developing external networks
- Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

CONNECT TO YOUR SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Relevant experience working in valuations and with an interest or experience in natural resources and energy
- Exceptional analytical, oral and written communication skills with a robust attention for detail
- Ability to take complex analysis and to present and communicate it in a concise and clear manner
- Show initiative to learn, ask questions and accomplish delegated tasks accurately
- Client focus, with ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships
- Strong academic record (2:1 Bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject as a minimum)
- Logical and methodical approach to problem solving
- Project management and organisational skills
- The self-confidence/enthusiasm to be involved in business development activities
- Willingness to travel, as required
Desirable:
- Pursuing or recently completed a professional accreditation (e.g. an ACA, MBA, CFA or similar)
- Business proficiency in foreign languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese) also advantageous but not critical.
