Description:
We are currently looking for a Manager of Category Cluster | Key Materials (x|f|m) for our Procurement BPS department based at our headquarters in Goettingen, Germany (Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH). The owner of this position will be responsible for the strategic, global development of the category. The role of Manager of Category Cluster | Key Materials (x|f|m) brings responsibility for a team of eight members, which is looking forward to shaping the future with you. This position is available only for full-time. It is a hybrid role requiring presence on site at our headquarters in Goettingen with the opportunity to work some days remotely.

- Preparation and successful implementation of global strategies for assigned categories in line with business needs
- Throughout that building a resilient, agile & cost-effective supply base
- Together with our suppliers preparing and rolling out complex RFx & negotiations and effectively managing the full-contract-life-cycle
- Driving the strategy & roadmap for the category Cluster | Key Materials in close alignment with Business Partners
- Additionally pro-active addressing of Sartorius’ future requirements by identifying, evaluating and further developing our supplier and partner network to ensure the best competitiveness of our supply base
- Leading and actively developing a team of eight direct reports
- First point of contact for stakeholders belonging to different areas such as Operations, Legal, Finance and suppliers across multiple countries
- Driving a pro-active risk management and best practice sharing
- Inform and advise relevant management about important trends in the supplier market
What will convince us
- Successfully completed Master’s degree in the field of Engineering or Business Administration
- Several years of significant professional experience in Category Management Contracting & Procurement in a global business environment (particularly in the field of manufacturing engineering)
- Proven experience in a leading role
- Extensive experience with new products introduction, make-or-buy approach involving worldwide teams and suppliers also as CMO´s
- A leadership personality with excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills, rounded off by holistic, proactive, forward-looking and global mindset
- Strong project management experience in coordinating across a matrixed organization, while having a hands-on and strong-working mentality
- Mindset of lean and efficiency in process management
- Fluency in both German and English (oral and written) plus willingness to travel globally (max. 20%)
