POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of AVP, Student Affairs, the Manager of Center for Student Success will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Testing Center, Career Services, and Student Activities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required in education or related field.
  2. Three-five (3-5) years of work experience required; Experience in higher education or student support services preferred.
  3. Knowledge of academic advising, ADA policies, and other college student support services.
  4. Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel).
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the college.
  6. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
  7. Highly skilled in prioritization; Able to adapt to changing needs.
  8. Must be willing to become certified in necessary testing administration (ie. Pearson, Accuplacer, TEAS, etc.) within first 30 days.
  9. High ethical values and must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates the overall functions of the testing center, including scheduling and proctoring assessments.
  2. Uses a variety of learning and testing technologies including learning management systems such as Canvas and testing platforms provided by ATI, Pearson, ETS, and other testing vendors.
  3. Coordinates space, furnishings, maintenance, supplies, printing, and security for the testing center.
  4. Trains, supervises, and evaluates tutors; tracks tutoring budget, submits appropriate purchasing requisitions, collects, maintains, and analyzes data related to tutoring services; coordinates with faculty in relevant subject areas to identify potential tutors; oversees scheduling of tutors, including schedule changes and maintenance of posted schedules for print, online, and digital display; update tutor contact information; schedule crisis tutoring for students in collaboration with faculty; maintain e-tutoring database, post e-tutoring schedules and provide e-tutoring services through OhioLINK.
  5. Conducts one-on-one career coaching; advises students with job search guidance, application support, and resume reviews; develops and implements communication strategies to promote opportunities for students.
  6. Develops and supports on-campus interview opportunities, including mock interview events.
  7. Develops/conducts workshops to help students expand their knowledge about post-graduation career opportunities in the area.
  8. Administers and interprets a broad range of career assessment instruments.
  9. Data collection for reporting related to the position and institutional annual reports.
  10. Develops, coordinates, and assesses a comprehensive student activities program of educational, recreational, social, and cultural programs that appeal to a diverse audience at the college and in the community.
  11. Advisor for Phi Theta Kappa.
  12. Advises and supports student organizations; ensures students organizations comply with college policies and offers continuous training to student leaders and advisors.
  13. Other work duties as assigned.
