Due to organizational growth, we are seeking a Manager of Environmental Services to join our team in this new and exciting position. The Manager of Environmental Services is responsible for planning, organizing, leading and overseeing the physical plant, property, housekeeping, laundry, fire safety and security systems, preventative maintenance and inventory programs in keeping with the vision, mission, and values of Wing Kei Care Centres.
Collaborating with Senior Leaders, Care team members, Food Services, and Administration, this position facilitates and optimizes inter-departmental partnership. Responsibilities:
Our Hospitality and Facilities team supports person and family centred care, demonstrates excellence in client and inter-departmental service, and stewards resources wisely. As one of our leaders on this team, you will build and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders, plan and prioritize according to whole-organization priorities, facilitate solutions and promote effectiveness of all day-to-day environmental services for all of our facilities.
Key Accountabilities
All Wing Kei leaders are personally accountable for their own integrity, effectiveness, contributions, and continued professional growth. You will demonstrate, promote and advocate Wing Kei vision, mission and core values in day-to-day operations. In addition, the following are considered key accountabilities:
- Manages the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance departments to achieve high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, to provide quality linen service and to maintain safe facilities within Wing Kei’s policies and procedures, and all applicable standards, legislation and regulations.
- Leads the operations of building maintenance, which may include renovations, project proposals, due diligence and planning for regular repairs and maintenance, as well as supplier/vendor sourcing and relations.
- Supervision of contractors’ work to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations.
- Manages on-site work orders and requests; and communicating regularly with Director of Hospitality and Facilities; provides input as needed for multi-team endeavors.
- Leads own team in preventative and safety measures related to our facilities, ensuring repair and maintenance work is completed responsively and promptly.
- Demonstrates a good balance in modelling technical skills as well as mentoring own team members so they may gain experience and individual development.
- Manages resources with integrity; creating and managing budgets, policies, procedures as required.
- Coordinates and leads as required regular exterior and interior building inspection; monitors facility security and infection controls, as well as conducts emergency response training exercises.
- Oversees procurement and inventory control for housekeeping, laundry and maintenance.
- Provides effective service to other departments; demonstrates respect for different perspectives / competing priorities; models strong teamwork and collaboration.
- Remains up to date with relevant industry trends, regulations and leading practices in environmental health and safety.
