Description:

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the organization is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manager of Finance & Administration. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining financial records, and supporting various accounting functions within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, managing internal controls, and complying with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for various operational duties, along with liaising with internal partners and external vendors, such as IT, Legal, Accounting, Real Estate, Insurance and Risk Management.
The Manager of Finance & Administration will be an integral part of the management team and will lead and support change management across the organization.

Job Requirements

  • • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, or relevant experience.
  • • Minimum 3 years of financial leadership at the management level. Management and/or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, although candidates with relevant experience in other sectors will be considered.
  • • Knowledge and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and presenting to management and board when required.
  • • Knowledge and experience in monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including liaising with external auditors.
  • • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (preferably Sage 300) and Proficient in MS Office.
  • • Knowledgeable of MOH and MCCSS TPA financial reporting obligations preferred

Responsibilities:

  • • Manage the preparation and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • • Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts. Collaborate with other departments to gather and manage relevant data, analyze budget-to-actual variances, and provide explanations for any significant discrepancies.
  • • Responsible for timely and efficient financial reporting to the Ministry of Health.
  • Exercise adept management over Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring seamless financial operations. • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations. Facilitate the relationship with the auditors. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and other legal requirements.
  • • Manage employees. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to develop their skills and enhance overall departmental performance.
  • • Communicate financial results, analysis, and recommendations to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders. Present financial information in a clear and understandable manner to facilitate decision
