Description:

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor degree with emphasis in Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, Communications or related field required.
  • Preferred 3 years prior work experience in fundraising, development, marketing, communications, public relations, or related areas
  • Preferred prior experience working in a not-for-profit agency
  • Experience in recruiting, training and managing people
  • Possess a high level of comfort and experience in engaging with major donors and senior-level individuals

Responsibilities:

The Major Gifts and development Manager works to secure monetary gifts, ranging from $10,000 to $1million+. Primary development-related responsibilities include securing and stewarding major and planned gifts. In addition this position will be responsible for supervising 2-4 general fundraisers.

This position aims to achieve a very high level of philanthropic engagement and satisfaction through close collaboration with Interfaith executives and program leadership, the board of directors, community leaders, major donors, faith groups, local businesses, and community partners.

  • Develop a vibrant culture of charitable donors, with a special focus on portfolio of $10,000+ donors through email, phone, written correspondence, virtual visits, and other appropriate means
  • Ask, secure and steward major gifts
  • Create goals and benchmarks for fundraising team
  • Provide guidance, feedback and mentoring for fundraising team
  • Participate in Development, Grants and Major gifts Meetings
  • Assist with outreach and relationship development for companies and special interest groups: Faith organizations, civic organizations, retirement communities, etc.
  • Provide recognition and acknowledgment to all major donors- past, present and future-through personalized acknowledgement, materials and public mediums and donor-related events
  • Give public presentations to major donors, faith communities, groups, and corporations
  • Assist in updating stewardship letters, major gift proposals, thank you letters, and communication pieces
  • Document donor contacts through online database and other means, as appropriate
  • Directly assist the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Development Officer, and Senior manager of Strategy and education.
