DASCH is a non-profit organization established in 1974 dedicated to exploring and meeting the residential, day program, respite and foster care needs of youth and adults. All our programs are based in Winnipeg. Our residential program consists of over 50 homes, our day services program consists of two community-based day programs and our vocational and supported employment program, DASCHWorks which supports people in finding and maintaining meaningful employment. People can participate in personalized social, educational, vocational and recreational services that provide learning opportunities and greater independence. POSITION SUMMARY

Under direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager of Quality Care and Vocational Development is responsible for ensuring quality across the organization is maintained, including but not limited to, quality care audits, personal outcome interviews and planning and supervision of the DASCHWorks vocational employment program. The Manger of Quality Care and Vocational Development will also supervise and support the Client Accounts Administrator, Administrative Assistant for Programming, the Vocational Supervisor and the Employment Supervisor for DASCHWorks.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Quality Control considered an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge in vocational and supported employment is considered an asset.
  • University degree in a related discipline and/or Certificate in Community and Disability Support with a minimum of five years related leadership, management experience and/or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills including management of multiple assignments, setting goals, targets, and document management.
  • Sound knowledge of Intellectual disabilities and experience working in the field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in liaison with other internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to direct reports to encourage growth and development within DASCH.
  • Develop clear policies and procedures for expectations of quality within the organization in line with the vision and mission statements of DASCH.
  • Develop quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, etc.
  • Interpret, implement and review quality assurance standards and procedures on a regular basis for best quality support to be provided to the people we support.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues as they are reported in compliance with DASCH policy and procedures.
  • Identify, organize and provide group training for staff in different areas to meet quality standard.
  • Ensure safety compliance, safe working conditions, safe procedures and practices and adherence to them as set out in The Workplace Safety and Health Act.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies and corrective actions.
  • Conduct and document internal audits and other quality assurance activities.
  • Remain up to date and aware of legislation and government standards.
