Description:

The Manager of Rehabilitation under the direction of the National Director, is accountable for managing contracts and various business lines, and helping grow rehabilitation services in the auto insurance, worker’s compensation board, employer, disability management, private consumer and other business sectors across Canada. Time is divided between operating contracts and lines of businesses, managing a team of rehabilitation professionals to ensure contract and business requirements are met or exceeded, building relationships with referral sources and key stakeholders, and performing clinical work to meet referral demands.
Job Qualification

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a post secondary education program, preferably in rehabilitation such as Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Kinesiology or Physiotherapy.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in rehabilitation, ideally in the private, employer, WSIB/WCB and auto insurance industry; disability management experience preferred. Leadership, and business development abilities are an asset. Clinical experience with in-home assessments, attendant care assessments, cognitive and mental health assessments, functional ability evaluations, ergonomic assessments, job coaching, JDAs, future care cost analyses, CAT assessments, vocational assessments, transferable skills analyses, and labour market surveys all considered an asset.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge about onboarding contracts, manage SLAs, implement, and track quality improvement initiatives, hire, onboard and train therapists from a variety of disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of private home care and rehabilitation services, clinical best practices, and healthcare college regulatory statutes/rules for practicing rehabilitation in each province and territory in Canada (i.e. physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, kinesiology, social work, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of the public healthcare system as private-public work together (i.e. hospital discharge planning)
  • Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, analytical, planning, time management, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong training and orientation skills, to attract and retain the top talent
  • Takes initiative and able to work independently and efficiently
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple duties and responsibilities simultaneously while prioritizing tasks daily
  • Able to handle difficult situations with a positive attitude
  • Business development and growth – excellent customer service and relationship building skills with key stakeholders
  • Growth mindset – shares information and collaborates with co-workers in different programs across Bayshore, innovates, seeks feedback, and learns from errors
  • Strong clinical skills to support referral volume and difficult to service areas, either in person or virtually.
  • Able to learn, use and manage various software systems such as EMRs and Learning Management Systems with coaching
  • Able to adapt to new technologies
  • Strong Microsoft 365 Office skills including: word, excel, power point and Teams
