Description:
VACANCY STATUS: FULL-TIME
Job Summary:Reporting to the Director, Cancer Program and Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program (ESC RCP), the Manager, Oncology Research and Informatics will provide leadership to a diverse and significant portfolio consisting of the Clinical Trials, Decision Support and Health Records teams.
The Manager is responsible for the growth, integrity and operations of the Clinical Trials department, as well as acting as a resource for research activities within the Cancer Program in alignment with the WRH Office of Research. Developing new and maintaining existing relationships with research funding partners and organizations are critical for clinical research sustainability.
The Manager leads the development, implementation, maintenance and optimization of our informatics and electronic initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall organizational direction. The manager is responsible for the specific reporting functions which result in funding for the entire Cancer Program.
This is a large portfolio that extends to and supports the core functions of each area of the Cancer Program. The need for relevant metrics and current evaluable data is constant by multiple departments of this large program, including Systemic Oncology, Pharmacy, Radiation Oncology, Psychosocial Oncology, and Cancer Screening. Responsibilities extend beyond the program’s walls to provide support to our regional partners in order to ensure OH reporting obligations such as Screening, Symptom and Treatment metrics are being appropriately collected and reported.
Key areas of focus include ensuring research is conducted following applicable regulations while adhering to the highest of ethical standards, accurate and timely reporting of all required program metrics to external and internal partners, developing and implementing methods that ensure quality data collection, and providing data insights and reporting to improve care quality.
In summary, this position will oversee initiatives that elevate oncology research, improve data quality, and enhance program operations while upholding the vision of WRH, Outstanding Care – No Exceptions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a regulated Health Profession, or a health-related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in clinical research, preferably oncology.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant management experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in informatics or similar position/activity.
- Program and project management skills including strategic planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
- Experience working with data management software is preferred.
