Job Type: Full-Time, 1-year Contract
The Canadian Society for Evolving Energy (CSEE) is seeking a Manager, Operations & Events to lead the planning, execution, and management of our events and operational activities. Reporting to the President, this role is integral to ensuring the effectiveness of CSEE’s initiatives, engaging with our membership, and enhancing our public presence.

Key Responsibilities:Event & Program Management
- Develop and manage event budgets in collaboration with the President.
- Plan, organize, and execute CSEE events, including registration, marketing, speaker coordination, venue selection, catering, and third-party vendor management.
- Secure sponsorships and manage society-wide sponsorship objectives.
- Coordinate webinars and online seminars, ensuring smooth execution.
- Develop marketing materials and oversee event-related communications.
- Track event success metrics and prepare post-event summaries for stakeholders.
Operations & Financial Management
- Assist in organizational long-term planning and resource optimization.
- Support financial management, including accounts payable/receivable tracking and budget reconciliation.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to employees and consultants as needed.
- Maintain CSEE’s website and social media presence (WordPress experience is an asset).
Membership & Outreach
- Collaborate with the Membership Coordinator to develop membership packages and track renewals.
- Engage with current and potential members, facilitating outreach and information meetings.
- Maintain CRM and centralize contact data.
- Oversee and contribute to the Energy Ambassadors program, including event planning and engagement.
Board & Committee Support
- Assist the President with administrative and executive tasks.
- Organize and facilitate committee meetings, including agenda preparation, note-taking, and action tracking.
- Support external event participation by managing registrations and communications.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of relevant experience (non-profit, energy industry, or event management preferred).
- Strong ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in membership engagement, volunteer coordination, and sponsorship development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and adaptability to new systems.
- Strong budget development and financial tracking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with website management and social media platforms.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
