POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the ICC Operations Manager, The Manager, Operations & Resources contributes to a high-performance organization by leading and promoting a safe and healthy work and learning environment for CHCA staff and students, while providing optimal fiscal outcomes as it relates to procurement.
Please note that this is a 100% in-person role.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution and equivalent years of experience in the field of Food and Beverage Management with an emphasis on food service delivery, purchasing, and accounting.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ related experience managing staff and academic operations or procurement, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Experience in asset management, capital planning, food purchasing, and food inventory systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and reviews equipment maintenance and records with Facilities and specialized external vendors, to ensure smooth and continuity of operation of division labs for full time and Con Ed programs and special events.
  • Identifies recurring problems and issues, high costs and high-risk equipment, discuss and review with faculty, facilities and/or vendors to address the maintenance needs of the division and find solutions that can reduce equipment downtime during business operating hours in an efficient manner.
  • Leads the development, maintenance, and organization of full equipment inventory of CHCA, including location, purchase year, assessment of status, estimated remaining useful life and replacement costs, and disposals of equipment. Leading the ICC Equipment Room staff on all needs and requirements.
  • Develops the standard operating procedures of critical equipment in labs, trains faculty and staff and new students, to support learning and ensure understanding of safe operation of equipment, and to ensure equipment are used as designed and as effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Oversees procurement process for all CHCA food, beverages, and equipment, working in collaboration with purchasing staff.
  • Manages procurement to ensure alignment with policies, broader Public Service Directives, and industry best practices.
  • Consults department managers to plan and prioritize needs and annual purchase of capital spend on equipment including Apprenticeship Capital Grants (ACG).
  • Develops and implements Health and Safety solutions to support divisional compliance to the College Health and Safety policies and guidelines as it relates to CHCA labs.
  • In support of the ICC Operations Manager, works with the production teams to ensure the required tools and ingredients for students and faculty are in place when needed.
  • Oversees Chef on the Run.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
