Description:
We are currently seeking a Manager Operations with strong leadership experience and stakeholder management skills to join our team at Inkerman Mill in the Burdekin region.
As the most senior operations role onsite, you will report to the Group Manager Operations and oversee the site leadership team. Your primary responsibilities will include planning, leading, and monitoring cane crushing and sugar recovery operations to meet annual factory output goals. Additionally, you will ensure the sustainability of factory operations, prioritising the well-being of the surrounding community and the health and safety of all onsite personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Optimise site performance to ensure the achievement of business production objectives and operational outcomes.
- Analyse and report on factory performance, providing recommendations to the Group Manager - Operations (Sugar).
- Coordinate factory cleaning intermissions, shutdowns, engineering support, urgent maintenance work, pre-season commissioning, cleaning/washdown activities, and operations throughout the crushing season.
- Collaborate closely with the Group Manager - Operations (Sugar) and Production & Technology team to develop factory plans, goals, and production strategies.
- Support change initiatives, show proactive problem-solving, and perform well under pressure.
The Successful Applicant
Our ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline or possess significant equivalent practical experience. They will have at least 5 years of experience in a senior operational role within a heavy industrial environment, with sugar industry experience being highly regarded. You will have a strong background in safety management systems and leadership, be familiar with budgeting processes, and demonstrate proficiency in utilising SAP or similar systems.
