OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years’ experience in technology & software development
• 5+ years’ experience in patent filing activities
• 2+ years’ experience in Business or Product management
• 2+ years’ experience in a startup or focused entrepreneurial experience
• Proven ability to establish and execute large enterprise scale projects.
• Proven ability to generate and obtain approval of new Business opportunities.
• Proven experience as an innovator and creative thinker quick at connecting-the-dots and understanding the value opportunities in the innovation.
• Experience working closely with senior leadership, group managers, and IP professional to develop patent business opportunities and skills to present and influence all audiences.
• Understanding of data modelling, AI models, and presenting complex Data to a senior audience is a strong asset for this position.
• Experience in design thinking methodology, design thinking-based activities and awareness of patent process is an asset.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Science or technical undergraduate degree preferred, post graduate degree is an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Developing processes and artefacts to support the patent strategy for the enterprise and each major LOBs: patent portfolio management, freedom to operate.
• Work with OPI team members to develop deep level data analytics against TD’s product and project portfolio to identify and realize new opportunities within the TD Patent program.
• Responsible for establishing and developing relationships with Leaders across the enterprise to continue to capture TD’s innovation.
• Assist with maintaining TD’s leadership position in the US and Canadian markets.
• Work with the Senior Manager, Patent Portfolio Management to ensure that we are capturing the right innovation to help manage the strategic vision of TD.
