DaVita’s Payor Partnerships team manages a $7B portfolio of commercial revenue and a high-growth, national value-based care business that encompasses more than 200K lives and over $5B of medical spend. The Payor Partnerships leaders make up a highly motivated, fast-paced team with extensive experience in negotiations, managed care, finance, and consulting, and are at the center of DaVita’s strategy to evolve from fee for service reimbursement to value based care.

Critical to success in this role is an ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple work streams across actuary, operations, legal, and business development.
This includes supporting strategy formulation, business development, and the delivery of a variety of innovative integrated care partnerships (pay-for-performance, shared savings, and capitation). Other special projects will include strategy work related to DaVita’s broader commercial health plan portfolio.

- Solid communication skills; can develop high quality, well formatted presentations and is comfortable communicating complex topics to a senior-level audience
- Experience within fast paced, deal-oriented teams in the corporate development, business development, banking, consulting or adjacent fields
- Preferred experience with top tier management consulting firm or investment banking
DESIRED TRAITS AND SKILLS:
- Action-oriented doer who sees themselves as a combination of contributor and leader as they move their organization successfully down strategic pathways
- High degree of creativity and intelligence. Excellent problem solving skills and strong analytical capabilities. Ability to perform exceptionally in fast-paced, matrix environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and communications style that will develop confidence in the team they lead and keep the attention of the broader organization
- High degree of comfort in ambiguity and track record of performing in similar role
- Proven ability to assess, attract, retain and develop internal personnel to meet performance expectations and future team needs
- Previously demonstrated abilities as a consensus builder. Strong, self-confident, decisive leader with good listening skills. Self-starter with drive and initiative
- Emotional maturity and ability to create change in an environment where the structure may evolve rapidly
- Able to work in an environment where sharing responsibility for success and failure of others on the team is critical to the overall success of the company
- Is highly motivated and ambitious; demonstrates the ability, talent, commitment and ambition to assume increased scopes of responsibility
Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of the value-based care deal negotiation process, including contracting and negotiation strategy, financial modeling and pricing, and project management
- Responsible for all negotiation analytics, including partnering closely with DaVita’s actuarial team, developing financial impact models in coordination with our analyst team, and building ad-hoc analyses independently, as needed
- Engage broader team with thoughtful and creative value-based care financial structures to support payor negotiations
- Perform ad-hoc strategic analyses that answer sometimes ambiguous but critical questions and inform our overall negotiation strategy
- Present analysis findings and conclusions to senior executives in a structured and comprehensive way
- Support senior executives to create both internal and external strategic and financial meeting materials that are persuasive and direct
- Maintain robust and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders to drive successful completion of deal negotiations and contracting
