EDUCATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Payroll administration certification such as Payroll Leadership Professional, PLP, or Payroll Compliance Practitioner, PCP.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Eight (8) years of supervisory experience in payroll administration in a complex, multi-union organization.
NOTE: An equivalent combination of education and other qualifications and work experience may be considered.

- Strong computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- Adept at written and oral communication with internal and external customers.

REQUIREMENTS:
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
- A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.

Responsibilities:
- Manage daily payroll and scheduling operations.
- Train, coach, and supervise staff.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures.
- Approve payroll payments and ensure compliance with government reporting.
- Oversee year-end tax and pension filings.
- Prepare departmental budgets and payroll reports.
- Maintain internal controls and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist with escalated employee issues.
The Manager of Payroll, Benefits and Scheduling will act as an ambassador and role model of the Values, Vision and Mission of GSS/GSC. Foster and maintain effective relationships simultaneously with peers, managers, staff, clients, families, physicians and volunteers.
