Description:
SOME OF YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL BE TO:
• Strive to achieve Zero Incident, 100% safety, 100% BOS customer value and 0% waste.
- Be accountable for HSE (Health Safety Environment) compliance and applies appropriate methodologies/standards to deliver effective pilot projects across BHP.
- Manage end-to-end pilot project planning, execution, and operation; lead a team of professionals to plan and design the on and off-site test work, including scope and budget definition, resourcing plan, key risks and opportunities, test requirement and objectives, among others.
- Lead, guide and coach a team of direct reports, contractors, and external partners, in their execution of the team’s objectives, facilitating a strong culture of teamwork, trust & high performance, and where respectful behaviours are always demonstrated.
- Partner and collaborate with Product, Innovation Business Partners, and the BHP Asset Leadership Team to develop the business case for demonstrating and deploying initiatives within Assets.
- Explore and iteratively reassess the best fit for purpose solutions, taking ownership of project decisions and outcomes and monitoring and managing impacts to value across the project lifecycle (e.g. social, environmental, commercial).
- Manage contract execution and analysis to maximize operational and financial performance and mitigate exposure and risk
- Plan, monitor and manage on and off-site test work performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope.
- Develop integrated project deliverables and integrate project work across projects through interfacing with stakeholders and managing the successful transition of project/phase closure.
- Develop and maintain trusting and collaborative relationships with Operational and Functional teams to foster strong communication, regular feedback and continuous improvement.
- Foster a safe to speak up environment to team members to work effectively with customers to achieve the best business outcomes.
About You
Responsibilities:
- Proven ability to lead and/or scale implementation of innovation pilots successfully and rapidly into core business areas.
- Experience working with operational Assets in Mining, ideally experience working on Brownfield expansion projects.
- A deep understanding of a day in the life of our partners in the Assets, with an appreciation of the competing priorities and tensions which may impact the priority given to innovative trials, and the capability to successfully navigate those competing priorities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders and technical experts.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and understanding early indications where innovation is needed in business processes and systems.
- Proven ability to apply technical Mining knowledge into coordination of solution testing pilots onsite.
- Experience resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination across departments.
- Experience in Mining or related fields in a managerial role.
- Proficient in English and Spanish.
- Availability to travel internationally
