Description:

As our highly valued Manager, Policy and Research, you will contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. You will do this with people who want you to grow and progress.
Reporting to the Director, Study Queensland, you will have the opportunity to share your perspectives to help shape the priorities of Study Queensland at a time of significant policy reform in the IET Sector. You will provide strategic and policy advice, lead and manage business activities relevant to the unit and provide high level coordination of correspondence for the General Manager.
You will navigate complex policy issues, leading and undertaking research and analysis and providing high level advice on international education and training matters that impact the growth and sustainability of the sector. You will implement, monitor and report on the progress of initiatives for the IET Strategy, contributing to the development of policy, legislation and system changes.

Responsibilities:

BASED IN BRISBANE, HERE’S WHAT YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE:

  • Manage and coordinate major policies, projects, and reporting requirements in the IET Strategy on behalf of the General Manager to ensure objectives are met.
  • Research, prepare and/or coordinate submissions, briefing notes, reports and correspondence on complex policy issues, business priorities and operational issues including matters for discussion with the Minister, Senior executives, and other key public and private sector stakeholders.
  • Manage and supervise the data and research officer to provide up to date data and market intelligence reports for the sector, and coordination of internal briefs.
  • Lead and influence key stakeholders to develop education and training market development initiatives by providing high quality specialist advice, market intelligence and building commitment to long term growth.
