B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.

DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Ten (10) years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management including (5) years in a supervisory or leadership role;
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field;
  • Professional certification such as Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or equivalent is an advantage;
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market analysis, and contract management; and
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software; strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement short and long-range department goals, purchasing policies, and operating procedures. Monitor department compliance with these policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Develop cost-effective procurement strategies for purchasing raw materials, goods, and services. Devise initiatives to drive procurement performance and optimize workflows and automation processes;
  • Identify, source, and manage new suppliers and vendors. Oversee the vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity, and reliability. Establish and maintain an updated preferred vendor/supplier database;
  • Develop and maintain good business relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Conduct performance reviews of suppliers and contractors using KPIs to evaluate their performance;
  • Create, negotiate, and administer purchasing agreements and contracts with suppliers. Evaluate contracts for compliance with legal requirements and company policies. Monitor supplier and vendor compliance with contractual agreements;
  • Manage the procure-to-pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, invoicing, and paying for goods and services. Implement efficient operating procedures for processing all purchasing documentation, ensuring proper data entry and record maintenance in the ERP system;
  • Prepare and place purchase orders within authority limits and as per supply procedures. Monitor and follow up on POs for timely delivery, warranty service, and after-sales service. Ensure all PR inquiries and approved PRs are handled and converted into POs within 48 hours, Code 99 ones are within 24 hours;
  • Manage procurement budgets, strategies, and payment processes. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Plan purchases based on the geographical location of suppliers, approved consolidation points, and the most efficient delivery methods; and
  • Review staff performance, provide feedback, and guide necessary rectifying behavior. Regularly discuss work plans, assess progress reports, and ensure ongoing and effective communication. Assist each staff member in compiling a Personal Development Plan and ensure on-the-job coaching or other appropriate training interventions.
