JOB SUMMARY:

Are you ready to help lead a transformative project that will revolutionize how Vertex supports its internal Tax Research team? As the Content Management Product Owner/Manager, you will be at the forefront of evolving the tools the Tax Research team uses. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of the TRM organization, you will play a pivotal role in evolving the capabilities of the Tax Research team.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Qualifications: A combination of education and relevant experience, such as a bachelor’s degree in a related field, will be considered. Your experience and knowledge are what count.
  • Experience: A minimum of six (6) years in software development, business analysis, or a related field, with at least three (3) years in product ownership, product manager or managerial role. Experience in commercial software development, financial or tax technology/industry experience and working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is highly valued.
  • Continuous Learning: Familiarity with modern software development tools, database technologies, and AI applications is a strong plus, and we encourage continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities:

Product Ownership (70%):

  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define and prioritize product features and objectives. Your leadership will ensure that all future tools meet both immediate needs and long-term strategic goals.
  • Be the Voice of the Customer: Serve as the primary liaison between the Tax Research team, developers, and product management. You will validate use cases and user journeys to ensure the tools align with the specific needs of its users, driving significant improvements in content management efficiency.
  • Agile Leadership: Guide agile teams through program iterations, focusing on the successful delivery of features. Your leadership will ensure the tools not only meet but exceed customer expectations, aligning with the overarching business outcomes.

Team Management (30%):

  • Inspire and Lead Multiple Teams: Manage and mentor a diverse team, around the world, ensuring they thrive and perform at their best. You will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone’s contributions are valued, creating a culture of continuous learning and high employee satisfaction.
  • Achieve Tangible Results: Oversee multiple projects across various phases of development, from new initiatives to maintenance, ensuring successful delivery within timelines. Your strategic oversight will enable the team to navigate challenges and deliver on high-priority projects.
  • Support Legacy Systems: Oversee the continued operation and maintenance of the current content management tools while spearheading the transition of new tools. Your ability to manage both the old and the new will ensure continuity and stability during this period of change.
  • Drive Operational Efficiency: Establish and refine processes that enhance project execution, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement, ensuring that the TRM team consistently meets and exceeds its goals.
  • Champion Organizational Growth: Play a key role in organizational initiatives that extend beyond your immediate team, positioning yourself for future leadership opportunities. Your broader influence will contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of the TRM organization.
