Purpose:
The Production Engineering Manager will oversee Veren’s Gold Creek/Karr Montney and Kaybob Duvernay Production Engineering teams. These teams are tasked with supporting ongoing field operations, subsurface repairs, artificial lift design and enhancements, production optimization, downtime mitigation, and the planning of new developments across their respective areas.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to 2 Production Engineering Team Leads, each overseeing teams of Production Engineers, EITs, and/or Technologists.
  • Assume a leadership role to define and achieve both team and interdepartmental objectives along with corporate priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and Superintendents to lower operating costs and reduce production downtime (including downhole, surface, and third party).
  • Create plans for ongoing improvement in production optimization. Knowledge in gas lift, plunger lift and compression would be advantageous.
  • Deliver short-term weekly and monthly production projections for Veren’s Montney and Duvernay assets.
  • Oversee the budget and expenditures for area downhole well repair. Work closely with the well servicing to promote and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in developing and implementing operational technology
  • Provide input and feedback on area development planning
  • Collaborate with the Production team in choosing and implementing effective chemical programs for downhole and surface applications.
  • Promote ongoing improvement by engaging in various initiatives, such as testing new technologies.
  • Liaise between several technical teams including Production, Development, Completions, Well Servicing and Facilities
  • Create KPIs to clearly show accomplishments and outcomes.
  • Regular and timely visits to the field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Professional Designation & valid registration with Association of Professional Engineers
  • Certified Engineering Technologists with a valid ASET membership and relevant experience will also be considered
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience is required
  • Highly organized individual with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to work at both the field and corporate level
  • Team Player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
  • Displays Positive attitude, resilience and is a role model for the group
  • Experience in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry, particularly in Production Operation
