Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant was founded in 2008 and currently employs more than 160 staff members. It is a unique and open innovation pilot and demonstration facility for process development, scale-up and custom manufacturing of biobased products and processes from lab to multi ton scale. A wide and flexible spectrum of modular unit operations combined with a team of highly trained and experienced engineers and bioprocess technicians facilitates the translation of biobased laboratory processes into viable industrial processes.
To date, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant has successfully performed 500+ projects on a bilateral basis with 200+ companies from all over the world. It was/is also involved in more than 50 consortium-based public projects.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager Purchase & Logistics will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing and logistics functions within the organization.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a technical background to manage supplier relationships, optimize logistics operations, and ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain management.
Purchased goods mainly include a wide range of raw materials for production, instrumentation for new installations and technical maintenance items.

Qualifications:.

• Degree or experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Experience in a technical purchasing environment is an asset
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
• Knowledge of public procurement legislation or a willingness to learn and stay updated on the regulations

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company objectives.
• Manage and optimize the entire logistics function, including warehousing and distribution.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring the best terms and conditions, while safeguarding consistent quality, in-time delivery , and the technical requirements for the goods and services purchased
• Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
• Lead and mentor a team of purchasing and logistics professionals.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
• Oversee budget preparation and cost management for the purchasing and logistics departments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
• Oversee compliance with public procurement regulations, ensuring all purchasing activities meet legal and ethical standards.
