Manager, R&D Procurement & Materials Management
Location: Mexico City (Hybrid)

The person in this position will support the Surgical Instrumentation Parts & Compone Team, providing high-quality services, performing daily New Product Introduction Leadership, Coaching & Mentoring, is also a subject matter expert through cross- functional analysis associated with project scheduling and material planning. Responsible for procurement functions directly associated with timely planning of New Product Introduction materials, tooling, and services & also manages all project specific Bill of Materials, Budget Forecast & Spend.

Key Responsibilities
- Leader in Timely planning and scheduling of material receipt/services
- Lead procurement in Arriba Buying
- Support and Lead annual COGS (Cost of Goods) for NPI (New Product Introduction)
- SME (Subject Matter Expert) in creating and submitting First Time Buys
- Reviews, dispositions PECN’s/ ECN’s and signs (Engineering Change Notices)
- Leader for inventory right sizing to ensure levels oi NPI materials are maintained to meet business requirements
- Organizes the planning, maintenance of work orders within the established guidelines and supports finance with the research and resolution of job variances
- Organizes & Maintains R&D Spend Tracker Accuracy and helps Finance reconcile monthly Accruals to reflect monthly spend on NPI
- Advanced utilization of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools
- Anticipates issues and implement preemptive solutions
- Oversees Business process owner to (Maintain & Create SOP’s) Standard Operating Procedures)
- Leader of Cross of functional projects and teams inside and outside area of responsibility
- Hire, Lead, Mentor and assists in the development of buyer planners and other material facing organizations.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes the movement of material both internally and externally
- Develop Identify and evaluate trends across materials and products
- Provide perspective to the business on areas to enhance effectiveness
- Mitigate scrap risk by coordinating, planning and performing analysis activities associated with Product Life Cycle Management
- Create, enhance and analyze reports to provide coaching for inventory management
- Lead difficult Negotiations, develops strong relationships with suppliers to influence on behalf of the business
- Create Business Intelligence Reports, identifies systemic trends and initiates actions to resolve issues related to non-conforming material, systems, material movements and processes
- Mentor Guide Team on how to resolve invoices, detecting trends and providing objective solutions.
- Leads and has the ability to negotiate prices/terms to meet the needs of the business
- Oversees and analyzes quotes, Reviews purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or tools
- Partners with supplier (in person or virtually) to develop capabilities or resolve issue in a timely manner
- Provides and oversees guidance to the business based on the ERP (Electronic Requirements Planning) Data Analysis
- Appropriately communicate/escalate significant issues to internal stakeholders
- Manage/Lead team of buyer planners and assists in the development of buyer planners and other material facing organizations.

- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Coaches/Trains others how to read MRP reports based on their product line; offers improvement recommendations.
- Experience with multiple Medical Product Lines
- Inventory Management – provides advanced techniques and creative solutions to reduce impact/risk to the business.
- Advanced knowledge, navigation and reporting within SAP, Business Intelligence (BI), and IBP (preferred)
