Are you a forward-thinking leader with a passion for geographic information systems (GIS) and data accuracy?
The Manager, Records & Mapping Services is accountable for the enterprise’s GIS system of record for distribution assets, ensuring precision and innovation. This role involves developing geospatial technologies and leading the strategic direction for managing digital geospatial asset data across the organization.
What you’ll do
EDUCATION & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in computer science, electrical engineering, GIS studies, or a related field.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and governmental requirements, such as ESA rules and regulations, PIPEDA, and OHSA.
- Proficient in contract specification development, administration, negotiation, and interpretation.
- Advanced knowledge of GIS software applications in a utility environment.
- Expertise in digital and manual record storage and retrieval, technical record interpretation, and CAD/drafting techniques.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience leading modern records capture, storage, and retrieval systems processes.
- Experience in GIS management and development within the electrical utility sector.
- Experience working in a unionized utility environment is an asset.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to engage, develop, and motivate diverse teams.
- Excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess the impact of decisions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information in a clear, persuasive manner.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation, with the ability to influence and resolve complex issues.
- Must hold and maintain a valid class “G” driver’s license.
