Description:
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- A graduate university degree is required, Masters preferred, in a health or related field.
- Seven to ten years of experience in health services delivery, management, and research and leading change initiatives in a research-focused organization.
- Training and experience in health services research, POR research methods, and integrated knowledge translation, and a demonstrated ability to attract grant funding.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, regulations, and policy applicable to research conduct and quality.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of the application of Good Clinical Practice guidelines and applicable (national and international) regulations related to clinical research conduct.
- Expert knowledge of human participants’ protection, including a functional understanding of the requirements of the Tri-Council Policy Statement 2 (and tutorial completion).
- Demonstrated knowledge of health research, POR, research methods, health research priorities, and current healthcare issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge of grant and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change.
- Ability to supervise, mentor and coach staff and students.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a successful publication track record.
- Strength in fostering and developing partnerships.
- Ability to effectively support and collaborate with health authority staff and university research faculty.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Current BC Driver’s license.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Strong organizational skills.
