Description:



    • Help to build a strong risk and data-driven culture in Product and C&A.



      • Analyse data to better understand potential and emerging risks to support a targeted controls assurance program.

      • Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment.
      • Constantly keep a check on compliance requirements.


        • Prioritised funnel of work for central, compliance and regulatory reporting with scheduled deliverables

        • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the continual assessment of process, policy and external changes and their potential impact on the department’s risk profile and risk appetite.
        • Provide Analytics Support to enhance leadership, insight and oversight on Risk Control function


          • Support of compilation of management reporting packs and Board papers.

          • Design and deliver report and analysis artefacts.
          • Collaborate with other team members to effectively analyse and present data.
          • Support cost control/avoidance initiatives to enhance and protect our strategy, underwriting discipline and operating rhythm


            • Undertake end-to-end arm’s length reviews of control systems to identify leakage points and provide recommendations for rectification.

            • Maintain reasonable knowledge of regulatory and industry compliance requirements

            WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING



              • 3-5 years’ business leadership experience within the financial services industry, preferably insurance.

              • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, engage and develop others.
              • Specific experience and associated understanding and knowledge of the current and emerging regulatory, commercial, technology and operational trends in Australia.
              • Self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously to manage competing priorities.
              • Ability to build and sustain effective relationships both internally and externally.
              • Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing ability.
              • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear action.
              • Intermediate to Advanced SQL, Microsoft Excel & Power BI skills.
              • Experience in business performance analysis, partnering and commercial acumen

              Responsibilities:

              PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

              Enable operational leadership in the delivery of A&G’s risk management strategy ensuring the compliance and protection of the Company. Use data to analyse the level of risk exposure and evaluate the control environment. Provide insight, analysis, and automated reporting solutions to optimise the first-line Risk Management function.
              Key success criteria include leadership and delivery across claims cost management, customer outcomes, product design obligations, and a culture of high performance with high integrity.
