Description:
[What the role is]
We are looking for a research grant administration manager to support the administration of NParks’ R&D funding initiatives. You will play an active role in ensuring the proper administration of grants/funding for NParks-funded programmes, in accordance with the programme requirements and in alignment with the Government’s financial rules and best practices. You may also have the opportunity to facilitate various planning and project activities to foster R&D foresighting, collaboration, and administration in NParks.
[What you will be working on]
- Grant Governance and Administration
o Ensure compliance to funding rules through the development and implementation of governance guidelines.
o Liaise with researchers and agency officers to manage pre and post award processes such as processing of claims in an accurate and timely manner.
o Work closely with agency officers and key stakeholders on the management of research projects to ensure timely submission and monitoring of project milestones.
o Organise and administer briefings to agency officers or potential grant applicants for a variety of grant related activities, such as to build agency capabilities in research grant governance or to inform applicants of funding rules.
o Update on overall research programme progress at meetings with senior management.
o Draft submissions to seek approvals for key project milestones.
o Monitor funding compliance rules and update guidelines, where required.
o Prepare for audits by Auditor-General’s Office (AGO), NParks Internal Audit Unit (IAU), and external auditors and follow up on audit findings and recommendations.
o Review processes and procedures and drive process transformation to improve efficiency and governance in managing R&D projects.
o Facilitate other general workstreams and projects related to science & technology planning, including supporting the organisation and conduct of relevant meetings, workshops, briefings and/or events where required.
[What we are looking for]
- Areas of study in Finance, Accountancy, Life Sciences, Environmental Management or related discipline
- Prior experience in the following areas will be an advantage:
o Grant or procurement governance and controls implementation
o Audit, or finance administration
o Administration of grants and/or R&D projects
o Management of contracts.
- Possess good writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- A meticulous, resourceful and self-driven team player who is able to work independently and multi-task to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- Experience in Workday or Integrated Grant Management System (IGMS) is preferrable
