About the Role
As an owner and operator of critical infrastructure assets, AGL is subject to the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act 2018 and has a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program in place to meet our obligations under this legislation. The SOCI Risk and Compliance Manager is a key role within AGL’s Group Risk, Compliance and Insurance team, which will support the implementation and continuous improvement of this program to deliver superior results in risk management, compliance and assurance functions within the changing landscape of the energy industry.
What you’ll be doing

1.Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program:

  • Proactively work to embed the requirements of AGL’s Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program within the business.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to both the design of AGL’s Critical Infrastructure Risk Management program and AGL’s approach to complying with these requirements.
  • Be a trusted advisor to business stakeholders to support AGL’s SOCI risk and compliance culture, including being a subject matter expert on legislative and compliance requirements, as well as providing insights on key risks, controls, metrics and trends.
  • Manage enterprise oversight of Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program compliance across all of AGL’s critical infrastructure assets.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of key reporting requirements, including to senior management, AGL’s Board and to relevant government departments as required.
  • Provide proactive and commercially appropriate advice to Business Units and functions in relation to both SOCI Act compliance, as well as their SOCI risks, helping to further mature AGL’s approach to identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring of risks and controls.
  • Work with Business Units and functions, and line 1 risk teams, to enhance SOCI risk governance and risk maturity across each Business Unit and function.
  • Provide training and education to build SOCI risk management and compliance capability across the business.
  • Design and implement risk and control assurance processes related to the Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program.
  1. Risk Advisory Services:
  • Advise and support risk management related activities on key Business Unit, function, and/or Enterprise projects as required.
  • Actively participate in relevant risk management committees/forums to drive and support the business in managing their risks.
  • Support climate risk management processes and reporting across AGL.
  1. Support the Director Group Risk and the broader GRCI team:
  • Manage the inputs for Audit & Risk Management Committee (ARMC) reports, including liaising with stakeholders across the business to ensure timely and accurate information.
  • Develop and deliver reporting to the Board, relevant risk committees (such as the ARMC) and executive management.
  • Manage and deliver agreed objectives to mature AGL’s risk management capability

About You

  • Extensive experience as a risk or compliance manager and strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and practices (including ISO 31000: Risk Management) from.
  • Sound understanding of risk management frameworks and experience driving compliance practices within a large, complex organisation (Energy, Mining, Natural Resources, Telco or Construction industry will be highly regarded, though not essential).
  • Experience conducting risk and controls assurance, including controls testing.
  • Sound understanding of the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act (2018) will be highly regarded, though not essential.
  • Strong focus on delivery and ability to deal with change and drive positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders across all levels of the business. Flexible, able to handle a variety of tasks, and to adjust quickly to changing priorities as required to meet business needs.
  • Excellent presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
