A Day in the Life
As a Software Verification Manager working in the Seaport District of Boston, MA, you will use your broad understanding of software verification techniques for medical or other regulated systems. You will develop strong understanding of the SW Architecture, oversee the test strategy, provide technical leadership in developing, execution and release activities of Software test in compliance with regulatory standards.

You will:

  • Demonstrate organizational talent and technical aptitude/understanding of Surgical Robotics systems and applications, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the drive to succeed in a matrix organization.
  • Define, plan, organize and coordinate V&V activities with teams across multiple sites in accordance FDA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and develop software test talent within the organization and work with a cross-functional team to foster synergy in day-to-day operation
  • Lead in forecasting, effort estimation, resource & test planning, training, execution, and release activities
  • Aptitude for continuous improvement, identify and implement industry standard software test technology, methods, and tools.
  • Well versed in different test development methodologies include Agile to enables breaking barriers across the organization.
  • Oversee definition and implementation of different software testing techniques to increase test coverage.
  • Use Test Automation frameworks to standardize test automation across products and technologies.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, preferably software related (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering) with a minimum of 10 years of software verification experience, or Master’s Degree plus 7 years related experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Medical Product verification, IEC-62304 and FDA guidance.
  • Thorough understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements.
  • Strong understanding of good documentation practices, various off the shelf test management systems
  • Lead and implement automation framework, embedded testing, automation scripts development and hardware software interface testing
  • Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs.
  • Ability to manage, track and upgrade multiple hardware and software configurations.
  • Ability to work with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineers when discovering, documenting, and resolving integration issues.
  • Familiarity with common programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python is preferred.
  • Experience using a tool or repository for managing test cases (GIT Stash, JIRA, JAMA etc).

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$150,400.00 - $225,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
